Camping Chairs: Five Listings Compared by Size, Frame and Pack Count
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
A folding camp chair is one of the first pieces of gear most people buy, and the five listings here show how far the sizes can spread. Two are small two-pack chairs for adults and teens, one is a four-pack for beach and lawn use, one is an oversized padded chair for larger adults, and one is a single chair with a built-in cooler. The frame material, the seat size and the number of chairs in the box decide how comfortable the chair is and how it packs, so those are the details this guide compares.
Quick answer
Start with the seat size and the weight rating if one is listed. The chairs here run from a small 15 by 17.7 inch frame to an oversized frame of 28 by 37.4 inches. Then check the frame. Alloy steel is the common material for a light chair, while stainless steel is listed on the largest pair. Last, check the pack count. A pack of two or four saves money if you need several chairs, but a single chair with a cooler may suit one person better.
How we chose
Each entry uses the product details saved for the listing: material, color, product dimensions, unit count, included components and recommended uses. The guide reports these figures as the listing states them. It does not describe how steady any chair feels when you sit, how the fabric wears, or how easy each one is to fold in the rain.
What we could not verify
Comfort, stability and weight capacity are not tested here. Some listings describe their chairs as heavy duty or big and tall, and the guide reports those words as the seller gives them. Where a listing does not name a weight rating in the saved data, the guide does not supply one. Check the product page for the rating before you buy a chair for a large adult.
The five listings

The Damei century set is four black chairs, with a unit count of four. The frame is listed as iron and polyester, and the product dimensions are 19.7 by 21.3 by 31.5 inches. WEIDIORME 2-pack lightweight camping chairs for adults and teens, black
The WEIDIORME set has two black chairs, with a unit count of two. The frame is alloy steel, and the product dimensions are 15 by 17.7 by 31.5 inches. FAIR WIND 2-pack XL oversized padded camping chair, black, stainless steel
The FAIR WIND set has two black chairs in stainless steel, with product dimensions of 28 by 37.4 by 39.37 inches. The additional features name big and tall, diamond-quilted, extra wide seat and heavy duty. The recommended uses include camping, fishing, gaming, reading and tailgating. The size is the largest in this group, so the chairs suit larger adults who need more room than a standard frame gives. View the FAIR WIND oversized 2-pack on Amazon.
Amazon Basics camping chair, blue, large, with carry bag
The Amazon Basics chair is a single blue chair with a large size. The material is alloy steel and polyester, and the product dimensions are 21 by 28 by 36 inches. The included components name a carry bag, and the recommended use is camping. The saved data lists no extra features beyond the carry bag, so it is a plain single chair for one person. Coleman portable camping chair with 4-can cooler, grey, cushioned seat and back
The Coleman chair is a single grey chair with a cushioned seat and back, made of alloy steel. Its product dimensions are 40.5 by 24 by 37 inches, and the listing names a drink holder as an additional feature. The included components field names a cooler, which is a built-in cooler for four cans. The title also mentions side pockets and a cup holder. A chair with a cooler is useful for one person who wants drinks within reach. View the Coleman chair with cooler on Amazon.
A comparison by size, frame and count
| Chair | Frame | Color | Size as listed (D × W × H) | Units |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Damei century | Iron and polyester | Black | 19.7 × 21.3 × 31.5 in | 4 |
| WEIDIORME | Alloy steel | Black | 15 × 17.7 × 31.5 in | 2 |
| FAIR WIND XL | Stainless steel | Black | 28 × 37.4 × 39.37 in | 2 |
| Amazon Basics | Alloy steel and polyester | Blue | 21 × 28 × 36 in | 1 |
| Coleman with cooler | Alloy steel | Grey | 40.5 × 24 × 37 in | 1 |
Frame, size and unit count are the three columns to compare first. The FAIR WIND pair has the largest frame, and the WEIDIORME pair has the smallest.
Frame material and folding
Alloy steel and iron frames are the common choice for a light folding chair, and the listings here name both. Stainless steel is listed on the FAIR WIND pair, which is the heaviest choice in the group. A chair that folds into a carry bag fits a car trunk more easily than a chair with a fixed frame.
Seat size and who it suits
A seat that is wide and tall gives more room for a larger adult, while a smaller frame suits a teen or a child. The FAIR WIND pair is marked as big and tall and extra wide, and the WEIDIORME pair is marked as small. Measure the seat width of the chair against the person who will sit in it, and check the weight rating on the product page.
Checks to make before you order
Count the people who need a chair, then pick a pack that covers them.
Check the weight rating for any chair you will use for a large adult, since the listings here do not give a rating in the saved data.
Confirm whether a carry bag is included, since it keeps the frame and fabric clean on the drive.
Which chair suits which camp
For a family or group that needs four chairs, the Damei century four-pack is the option to compare. For teens or smaller adults who want a light pair, the WEIDIORME two-pack is the match. For a larger adult who needs extra width, the FAIR WIND XL pair is the one to look at. For a single chair with a drink holder, the Coleman with its built-in cooler is the choice.
Setting up on uneven ground
Set the chair on a level patch of ground, and press each leg into the earth before you sit. On sand or soft grass, a wider foot gives a steadier base. Check the locking mechanism each time you open the chair, and fold the chair when it is damp so the frame does not rust at the joints.

The FAIR WIND XL pair is marked as big and tall with an extra wide seat. Check the weight rating on the product page before buying.
Do I need a chair with a cooler?
A chair with a cooler suits one person who wants drinks within reach. For a group, separate chairs and a cooler on the ground are often easier to share.
